Menudetto vs FineDine (2026): two digital menu philosophies compared

6 min read

An honest comparison of Menudetto and FineDine: entry pricing (Pro at €19/month VAT included vs Starter at €27/month with annual billing), menu languages (6 vs up to 40), how each handles the 14 allergens of EU Reg. 1169/2011, table ordering and payments, and when each platform is the right choice. Data collected 2026-07-22 from public pages.

FineDine is an international platform that covers the whole of service: QR menus, ordering and payment at the table, reservations, a website, CRM. Menudetto is a young, deliberately focused tool: an EU-compliant QR menu you update by talking to your phone. In breadth, the two products barely overlap — and that's exactly why the comparison is useful: the real question isn't "which one is better?", but how much platform your restaurant actually needs.

The comparison at a glance

  • Entry paid price — Menudetto: Pro at €19/month, VAT included. FineDine: Starter at €27/month with annual billing (VAT not stated on the pricing page).
  • Permanent free plan — Menudetto: yes — 1 restaurant, 1 menu, QR code, allergens, 6 languages. FineDine: not present on the pricing page we consulted; 14-day free trial.
  • Creating and updating the menu — Menudetto: chat, voice, or a photo of the paper menu. FineDine: web dashboard — pre-filled templates, from scratch or import, with real-time updates.
  • Menu languages — Menudetto: 6 (it/en/es/fr/de/pt), automatic, included in the Free plan too. FineDine: up to 40 according to the website (44 according to the help center), from the Growth plan.
  • Allergens — Menudetto: the 14 allergens of EU Reg. 1169/2011, detected by AI with mandatory human confirmation before publishing. FineDine: allergen warnings, calories and nutritional information on items.
  • Ordering and payment at the table — Menudetto: no. FineDine: yes — Order & Pay, POS Lite.
  • Reservations — Menudetto: no. FineDine: yes.
  • App-free menu for the guest — Menudetto: yes. FineDine: yes.
  • AI assistants on the public menu — Menudetto: yes (WebMCP). FineDine: not stated on the pages we consulted.

Creating and updating the menu

This is where the two products genuinely diverge. FineDine offers a solid web dashboard: you start from a pre-filled template, from scratch, or by importing your existing menu, and updates are reflected in real time; there's also time-slot availability for rotating dishes. It's the classic approach, done well: it works perfectly if you manage your menu from a desk.

Menudetto starts from a different premise: the restaurateur already has the menu — on paper or in their head — and is rarely sitting at a desk. You photograph the paper menu and the AI digitises it, or you describe your dishes in chat or by voice. Day-to-day service runs on voice too: a sold-out dish gets marked with a tap or by saying so, while you're on the floor. Of the seven services we compare in this series, Menudetto is the only one with voice editing.

Languages: 40 versus 6, no sugarcoating

On this dimension, FineDine is objectively ahead. The website declares automatic translation into up to 40 languages (the help center lists 44, including Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Russian) through a dedicated Translation Center, which also covers modifiers, tags, nutritional information and feedback surveys. There's multi-currency too, for brands with locations in several countries. Worth noting: multi-language and multi-currency start from the Growth plan (€65/month with annual billing), not from Starter.

Menudetto translates automatically into 6 languages — Italian, English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese — included in the Free plan as well. For a European restaurant with a tourist clientele, they cover most real-world cases; if you need languages beyond Europe, today FineDine covers them and we don't.

Allergens: declaring versus verifying

Both show allergens on the menu. FineDine includes allergen warnings, calories and nutritional information on items, with the declared aim of helping restaurateurs comply with food regulations; on the public pages we consulted, the regulatory reference stays generic ("dietary regulations") and we found no mention of EU Reg. 1169/2011, nor of a human review step on the data — understandable for a platform serving markets with different rules.

Menudetto is built around the European regulation: the AI detects the **14 allergens of EU Reg. 1169/2011** from the ingredients, but no menu gets published until the restaurateur has manually confirmed every flag. With allergens, legal responsibility sits with the restaurateur, and we believe AI alone is not enough: mandatory human confirmation is the side we've picked.

Beyond the menu: where FineDine plays a different game

Let's say it plainly: FineDine does many things Menudetto doesn't. Order & Pay with fast checkout and tipping, its own POS (POS Lite), simultaneous order routing to POS, kitchen and printers, online reservations, an AI website builder, CRM and customer loyalty, tablet menus and delivery/pickup menus, all the way to AI-generated social content. Its website also declares clients such as Hilton, Grand Hyatt, InterContinental and Pizza Hut, and a menu engineering engine that — it declares — is trained on over 150 million sessions.

Menudetto doesn't handle orders, payments or reservations: the waiter remains the channel. If your business model needs digital ordering, Menudetto is not the right tool today.

Pricing: what you pay and what you get

FineDine has three plans: Starter at €27, Growth at €65 and Premium at €127 per month, prices shown with annual billing (the annual option is indicated with a 20% discount on the monthly price; VAT is not mentioned on the pricing page). Starter has explicit quantitative limits: up to 100 menu items, 20 tables, 1,000 orders and 50 reservations per month. There is no permanent free plan on the pricing page we consulted, but a 14-day trial with all features (up to 80 menu items).

Menudetto has two plans: the **permanent Free plan** (1 restaurant, 1 menu with the classic layout, QR code, allergens and 6 languages included) and Pro at €19/month, VAT included — unlimited restaurants and menus, dish photos, visual themes, team access. No limits on tables or scans, and the price you read is the price you pay.

When to choose FineDine

  • You want guests to order and pay at the table, with integration into POS and kitchen.
  • You need online reservations built into the same platform.
  • You have a broad international clientele: up to 40 languages and multi-currency.
  • You're after a complete suite — website, CRM, loyalty, AI social content — from a single vendor.
  • You operate multi-location or enterprise: on its website FineDine declares clients such as Hilton, Grand Hyatt and Pizza Hut.
  • You want to try everything first: 14-day trial with the full feature set.

When to choose Menudetto

  • You need a QR menu done well, not a management suite: zero modules you'll never use.
  • You update the menu by voice or with a photo, from your phone, even during service.
  • You work in the EU and want the 14 allergens of Reg. 1169/2011 with human confirmation before publishing.
  • The 6 European languages are enough for you — and you get them in the free plan too.
  • You prefer simple pricing: Free forever, or Pro at €19/month, VAT included.
  • You want your menu readable by your guests' AI assistants too (WebMCP).
